“If you want to change your life you have to learn to love and believe in your future more than you love and believe in your past.”
Life has always been and continues to be a learning process for me. I’m a perpetual student, sometimes I hit the marks with flying colors and other times I fall flat. We are all students of life, though we don’t often talk about it.
For better or for worse, we tend to be a part of a tribe that prides itself on having everything in our life figured out. Well, I don’t have my life figured out. In fact, I’ve been spending a majority of my time in the ashes asking myself, where to go from here… I’m not so sure.
Which is why I’ve spent the last year being more and more selective in my search for others like me. Or the me that I want to be. The free thinkers, the inquisitive of heart and the soul workers who find ways to weave their magic into the world while still remaining a functioning part of it.
The search has led me to a great deal of amazing beautiful beings. Yet, I’ve still caught myself aggrieved from the frequent misconception of ease and sugar-coated talk that can come from positive-thought/new age social media. There’s work that goes into improving yourself and it’s not always easy moving forward. The struggle is real and it can sometimes be an isolating experience when you’re going through major shifts.
That’s why I greatly appreciated finding this video and Nur. Nur’s thoughts about self improvement are a refreshing reminder of the work it takes to create lasting change in your life. I find her candor helpful and share her conviction of the importance of putting in the time and work to better yourself (sometimes it’s easy to feel like the only one, but you’re not, I swear!).
I hope you enjoy. Thanks, Nur. ❤
